SoursopGraviola.com

We are all familiar with Cancer and how deadly it can be, it is a world wide phenomenon and medical specialists everywhere are searching for answers. Well I found a site that claims to have the answer, a site that also claims that this answer was discovered several decades ago.

Soursopgraviola.com is about one miracle fruit, the soursop. The website simply aims to provide relevant information about this fruit and its benefits to human health. This is a simply designed website which offers nothing more than useful information. Its content into the topic is dense and well covered. If you are someone who knows absolutely nothing about the fruit after going through the content found on Soursopgraviola.com you will be well endowed with knowledge.

What I find to be most remarkable about this website is that it dares to stir up controversy because it claims that the soursop can possibly cure cancer, something medical specialist are still claiming to be working diligently at doing. Whether or not you believe those claims it is a great source of information. So for the high school student who just happens to have a project on exotic fruits this could be a great avenue to broaden your knowledge other than Wikipedia. The website also sources places in which soursop products may be purchased for persons who have taken interest in the fruit after obtaining the knowledge, so it does not leave you wanting. I give Soursopgraviola.com a 8/10 for good functionality.

Flavorpot.com

I decided to make my first review about a small recipe website I stumbled across recently. Flavorpot.com is catered for persons who have a liking for exotic, or more specifically Caribbean cuisine. The first impression I received was that it lacked much originality. While the concept of bringing Caribbean food to the world wide web is in itself not extremely unique the presentation of this concept did not give it much distinction.

On the home page you can find a side bar which categorizes the websites by ingredients. This side bar while it may be useful is not very functional if you happen to have a slow running internet service. It is made up of solely text images and can be misleading if not allowed to load properly. However it is rather appealing, especially during navigation as the images transform by the rollover of the cursor. To the bottom of the home page Flavorpot.com recognizes the Caribbean islands by featuring the native flag for each island. This does add some sort of cultural pride to the website and takes it up a notch with originality.

The recipes found seem to be genuine Caribbean cuisine. The developers of the website seemed to have done a good job in gathering quite a few Caribbean recipes. Sadly I do not use the term "quite a few" loosely. Flavorpot.com does not feature more than "quite a few" recipes therefore if you're looking for an overwhelmingly dense archive for Caribbean recipes this is not the place for you. The website also lacks visual appeal for its recipes due to the fact that absolutely none of them have pictures to illustrate what the food looks like. In fact the only place on the website which actually gives a visual of any recipes is the home page which has a small animation of a select few. Therefore one is left to wonder whether or not the recipe attempted came out the way it should have.

On a brighter note I did find that the recipes were rather unique and just by reading through them one could tell the main ingredients that Caribbean people use in their cooking. So if you need to do some homework on the cooking habits of the Caribbean then this is the place for you.

Flavorpot.com also gives the option for persons to submit their original recipes I guess this is an attempt to build their rapport and improve on their product base ie get more recipes. It's a nice idea but it doesn't seem to be very functional. Also lacking in functionality is their forum. It features very few posts and right now very few members especially when considering that food can be a topic so rich in substance.

All in all Flavorpot.com succeeds at supplying Caribbean recipes but fails terribly at presenting it in an appealing fashion. I give it a 4/10.
